All I want for Christmas...

Dennis took Jade to meet Santa on Friday. And boy was she ready. She was so excited, she even practiced what she was going to ask him for.
Here is a picture of Jade with Santa. She was not scared, shy, or timid. She was determined and excited. She asked Santa for "a black doll, a purple watch and a computer." I am pretty sure that Santa will not be bringing the computer. When I asked her to describe the computer to me, she described a desktop!

"Here Comes The" Flower Girl!

This weekend was a BIG Cardoso Family event. Jade's Beautiful Aunt Jessie got married and Jade was privileged to have been asked to perform as the flower girl. She was super excited because we told her it wasn't just a flower girl, but a flower princess. And of course, being a girly girl, she loved the dress. I don't have any wedding pictures, because I too was honored to have been asked to be a bridesmaid but I was able to take some fun female bonding/prepping pictures.

The morning started with a typical trip to starbucks, her ordering her chocolate milk, and me my decaf, grande, non fat, light whip mocha and then we walked over to the nail salon. I was in desperate need of a pedicure and I figured since she was with me, she should get her nails painted, if she wanted to. At first she didn't, but when I promised her that it wouldn't be a man painting her nails, she happily obliged. I took her to select a color and as usual she initially reached for pink, but then she changed her mind and asked for white. You will notice in a few of the pictures, her VERY white nails. Her toes match too, but there were no pictures of them. She was so good sitting through the entire painting process and being very careful not to smudge the polish. Actually, she was SO GOOD that entire day! Anyway, here's some fun pictures.
Notice the beautiful white nails.
A perfect shot of her jumping in the air with excitement to be wearing a princess dress!

The Beautiful Bride.
Some of the fellow bridesmaids. There were nine total, so a few are missing. Jade is being held by her Aunt Kelly with her Aunt Kristen to the right. The other three young ladies are life long friends of Aunt Jessie.

Prayers for Veronica and Thalia

I have to say "Congratulations to myself" for making it an entire year without updating my blog. I have had some down time at work and I find myself occasionally, no frequently, possibly daily, alright, maybe hourly checking everyone's blogs. I figured I would take advantage and try updating mine.

How do I update a year? I don't. So instead, I'm just going to start from now. The most recent thing on my heart is my dear friend Veronica and her daughter Thalia. She and I would really appreciate your prayers. She just found out Friday her x-husband and father of her daughter passed away. Below is a picture of both Veronica and Thalia.

This is the most recent picture I have of the two of them that was taken at Jade's Bday party and includes Jade in the picture. Veronica has been a very good friend of mine for over 4 years and she means a lot to me. Please pray for her, her daughter and the family of her x husband.

On a lighter note, I have to share a slightly humorous story from my daughter. I was with Jade when I got the news from Veronica and I cried. Jade asked me what was wrong and I told her that Thalia's father died. She just looked at me, but didn't seem to comprehend. I'm sure she overheard me over the next few days as the topic was of great impact to all my friends and many family members that care so much for Veronica and her daughter. On Monday when I dropped Jade off with her dad at school, he asked me how Veronica was and as I was responding to him, Jade interrupted and said "What Mommy, what happened?" So again I told her, "Thalia's dad died." She then replied to me, "Again? Oh my." Kids are so precious.
